5 Ways to help with Men’s Health

As a nurse, we have to educate people and men about men’s health.

Men have high rates of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease are all on the rise. Also, depression, high blood pressure & prostate issues are common with age.

By educating men to stay healthy, they can reduce their risk of stroke, heart attack, and other major complications.

This means men have to be proactive and take charge their your own health. It means you have to be responsible on an ongoing basis. Here are five ways you can get started.

1 Get a checkup. Take a man to the doctor.

When was the last time you saw your doctor? Regular checkups are an important part of staying healthy.

2 Get moving. Start a weekly exercise program.

As a man realize that, exercise is good for you. Exercise can help with weight control and can effectiviely reduce other diagnosis’s such as Stress, Diabetes & High blood pressure.

3 Get hydrated. Let make a daily water drinking schedule.

As humans sometimes we are guilty of not getting enough water. Let’s drink enough to stay hydrated. Water can help prevent dehydration & regulate body temperature.

4 Get calm. Have a plan to prevent stress.

Remember stress is bad for you and especially men. Stress can lead to serious health problems. To combat stress you can do breathing exercises and meditation.

5 Get to bed earlier. Have a regular sleep schedule.

Men have to remember not to cut into their sleep. Most men may need between 7 and 9 hours a night. Also, limit your caffeine intake at night.
